Travel form the youth...

Why do young people undertake trips and that they withdraw? As they leave to discover the world, work or study, have fun and meet people, young travelers return with much more than achieving their original objectives. Their trips open their new horizons, develop their confidence in themselves and, above all, lead to show more tolerance and trust cultures and different peoples from their own.

There is no fixed tags to the youth market: everyone has different age groups. It is also increasingly difficult to link the concept of "youth" at specific ages since, on the one hand, young people are traveling more and earlier and, on the other hand, they study longer, marry later and remain "young" longer. The more comprehensive age group is that of individuals aged 16 to 35 years.

This analysis presents the motivations and benefits with regard to youth travel from a study by the World Tourism Organization, which itself takes up surveys conducted by World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation. Questionnaires were sent to customers of the 550 member companies of this group. These interested in youth tourism; they offer exchange programs, hosting youth, Student Flights, travel insurance, student cards and language programs. The members of WYSE Travel Confederation providing services to over 10 million youth and students each year. The sample of respondents, therefore, has a higher proportion of individuals participating in an exchange program, study or work abroad for all young travelers.

Why do we travel?

The tourist is not this person a bit boorish and herd which is so often portrayed. It is a complex traveler who carries with him his desires and dreams. His ways of traveling speak volumes about our society and our times.

Analysis of tourism practices are often exposed to a first error, which consists in amalgamating the subject and the phenomenon. To confuse or refuse to distinguish the tourist tourism. Thus the observation of the traveler as a person - with his desires, values and dreams - it disappears in favor of the study due to mass: quantity, number, its spaces, its flow. On behalf of sociological distance, statistics or neutral merchant realism, as one comes to a purely accounting approach to tourism practices: times, durations, percentages, frequencies, locations, transport, seasons, accommodation, dating ...

These approaches have of course their utilities. But they ignore all the psychological aspects of the trip. Tourism can not be reduced in the windows of tour operators or come down to the opinions of guides, hoteliers and other tourism professionals. Against this error, it is going to encounter here a subject without which the tourism phenomenon would not. To explore the jungle of myths and imaginary, representations and projects that result. The "soft map" of possible trips, trends or complex geography of vacationers ... No desires without tourism tourist. Truism? Probably. But it seems nevertheless useful to recall and yet still this fact anyway: "The traveler is still what matters most in the trip (1)! "

English tourists steadily rising

The situation of the British market and the Tunisian tourism has been discussed this morning during a working session together with Ms Selma Rekik Elloumi-Minister of Tourism and Handicraft with leaders of the three first English tour operators, namely Thomas Cook, TUI and The Just Sunshine.

The Minister welcomed on this occasion the commitment and solidarity of the Government, operators and British tourists towards Tunisia. Bardo : The expansion and renovation of the museum

During this period, renovation projects of many Tunisian museums, including the Bardo Museum, were initiated within the framework of the implementation of global strategy for the development of cultural tourism. These projects were financed by a loan Tunisia got from the World Bank.

In December 2003, Taher Ghalia who is a researcher specialized in Late Antiquity, was entrusted with the direction of the museum. Thus, a transitional epoch was started: the museum would be updated until it becomes the showcase of the Tunisian heritage with the starting of the studies relative to the new museographic and architectural project. A perfect coordination between the different stakeholders in the project was made possible. The study relative to this project was trusted to the Parisian firm Codou-Hindley in association with the Tunisian architect Amira Nouira. A scientific programme was elaborated to execute a museographic presentation based on chronological and thematic circuits and according to exposition modes that are adapted to the wider public preferences.
