The situation of the British market and the Tunisian tourism has been discussed this morning during a working session together with Ms Selma Rekik Elloumi-Minister of Tourism and Handicraft with leaders of the three first English tour operators, namely Thomas Cook, TUI and The Just Sunshine.
The Minister welcomed on this occasion the commitment and solidarity of the Government, operators and British tourists towards Tunisia. British tourists have indeed stopped recording positive developments on the Tunisian destination with over 425,000 arrivals in 2014 and an increase of 8.5% expected in 2015.
Ms. Selma Elloumi has also expressed the willingness of his Department to support the British tour operating programs and initiatives while giving a comprehensive overview of the measures of safety and environmental issues already in place by the Government and which tend to secure the best tourist areas and improve the quality of services in hotels as well as in all areas of the country including airports and tourist circuits.
Took part in the meeting Ambassador of Great Britain in Tunisia and Tunisian presidents of federations in hotels and travel agencies.
